Great warning signs by Lynette
We've seen a great collection of warning signs with highly descriptive pictures that transcend language. Here are my favorites. Not sure what this says about our choice of trails.
The last one isn't a warning about possessed cats, but an indication to watch out for the multitude of stray cats roaming around town.
Interesting signs. When we lived there we photographed signs with unusual wording or spelling for something in English.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen more traditional Chinese architecture while away from Taipei?
Most of the architecture seems more modern. I love the interspersing of the very traditional temples in the midst of the modern city though. Outside of Taipei, it's much harder to get by without Chinese - in Taipei, it's really easy.
DeleteI agree, the signs are so much fun to capture. especially with translations. i remember in China the translation they had at one hotel for french fries was "exploding potatoes"...... it is the small things like this that make travel so interesting to see the differences even when so many things in countries now start to look the same.
ReplyDeleteI'd interpret the last one as "beware of black tigers." I need one of those for our house :-)
ReplyDeleteI’m having this odd thing happen. When I click on any of your pictures to enlarge them on my iPad, I get this screen, all in Greek, asking me to choose between 3 options before I can continue. Nooooo. So I look forward to being able to enlarge everybody’s pictures when I’m home. Same thing happens if I try to Google something. I’m just reluctant to choose options in Greek.
ReplyDeleteThat cat sign is adorable 😂
